June - United States: World Cup: The Brazil team, led by Dunga, winning for the fourth time World Cup by defeating Italy in the final 3-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in 120 minutes regulations. After the failures of Baresi and Massaro by the Italians and Brazilians Marcio Santos, Roberto Baggio missed the final penalty.
